Where is Serenoa in Clermont FL?
Serenoa is an amazing community in the southern portion of Clermont, FL. Located south of Lake Louisa State Park, north of U.S. HWY 192, and east of Florida RT 27. Serenoa is a sprawling master planned community made of multiple types of homes and neighborhoods.
As you approach Serenoa from Highway 27, you’ll turn down Sawgrass Bay Boulevard, which leads to the Sawgrass community and eventually turns into Serenoa. Serenoa has multiple communities within it, each with its own pool.
These communities include The Palms at Serenoa, which is a 55+ community, Serenoa Lakes, and the new Edgemont community.
Community 1: Edgemont in Serenoa
Edgemont is a new community that has been in development the last 18 months. It is a small community with less than 100 homes, and there are still no release dates or pricing available.
The community is being developed by D.R. Horton, a well-known builder with over 45 years of experience in the industry. We have sold many D.R. Horton homes and have a good experience with their product.
You may be familiar with D.R. Horton in the west Orlando region from the work in Palms of Serenoa, Waterleigh (Winter Garden, FL), and Lake Apopka Sound (Apopka, FL).
Edgemont is situated on the eastern side of Serenoa and is adjacent to The Palms at Serenoa. Many residents in the Palms of Serenoa are ready for the building to commence in Edgemont because they have experienced the bulldozers and unfinished land for quite some time.

Edgemont in Serenoa Features
Edgemont features a variety of homes that range in size from 1,672 to 2,725 square feet. There are five different floor plans available, including two one-story models and three two-story models. The community will have fewer than 100 homes, offering residents a cozy and close-knit environment.
In addition to its desirable location and beautiful five models, Serenoa, Edgemont offers a range of amenities and features such as a private pool and cabana, multiple parks, and playgrounds throughout the development.
The community will also be home to several walking and biking trails, making it easy for residents to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of the area.
We don’t have much information on Edgemont just yet and there has been little progress on the building.
There has been some information released by D.R. Horton to the general public such as Serenoa offering upgraded stainless kitchen appliances from Whirlpool, “Home is Connected” Smart Home Technology which allows you to control smart devices in your home using your phone or tablet such as turning on lights, adjusting temperature, and even locking the doors all from one place!
Another great thing Concrete block homes have several benefits compared to other types of construction materials. Concrete block homes are highly durable and resistant to weather, fire, and insect damage. They also provide better insulation, energy efficiency, and better noise reduction.
When will Edgemont in Serenoa be Completed?

Community 2: Palms at Serenoa
The Palms at Serenoa is a gated community built by D.R. Horton and the only new 55+ community with new construction in Clermont, FL. That’s right, this is the only place you can still buy new 55+ construction as of May 2023.
This community offers a resort-style pool, a clubhouse with a workout area, bocce ball courts, pickleball courts, a fire pit, and much more.
One standout feature is the pool…we love this pool!
The zero-entry pool is great for kids and grandparents alike and the swimming lap lanes will challenge the fittest of swimmers. Don’t forget about the enormous shade-flag covering a portion of the pool as well as the great seating options all around the pool.
The lots in this community offer conservation water views which we love.

There are many types of homes in the Palms at Serenoa with different price points. For example, the villas in this community start in the mid-$300s, while the Del Rey, which is the biggest home in the community, is 2034 square feet and costs $460,000.

Community 3: Serenoa Lakes
Lastly, there is Serenoa Lakes. This community offers a beautiful clubhouse, a resort-style pool, and many great activities for families.
Serenoa Lakes offers a variety of home designs and floor plans to choose from, ranging from 2 to 6 bedrooms, with square footage ranging from 1,580 to over 4,194+ square feet.
The homes also come with 2-3 car garages, depending on the model chosen. The community has both one-story and two-story homes available, so there are options for everyone’s preferences.
The majority of lots in Serenoa Lakes is between 40′ and 50′ with a few reaching up 60′.
Serenoa Lakes is also surrounded by natural conservation areas and wildlife, making it a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

When will Sawgrass Bay Blvd be connected to Western Way?
The estimated date has been discussed as 2026. This connector will significantly cut down on the time from traveled from Clermont to the Disney area.
In fact, this is becoming one of the most popular investment sites because of the future connector. Currently, you have to travel south on RT 27, east on HWY 192, and then north on Avalon Rd. to get to Disney from south Clermont—which takes over 30 minutes.
The connector should cut that commute time in half.
Is Serenoa a master planned community?
Serenoa is a master-planned community with 1600 single-family home lots developed by Kolter Land Partners, a well-known and respected name in the real estate industry.
Over the years, Kolter Land Partners has developed numerous successful master-planned communities across the United States, including in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.
Kolter sold 600 lots to D.R. Horton to develop a 55+ community (Palms at Serenoa). The remaining lots have been sold to a variety of builders, including Pulte Homes (Ridgeview), NVR (Bella Terra), Ashton Woods (Hills of Minneola), and David Weekly (John’s Lake Landing).
In addition to the residential lots, there are additional land and commercial parcels still available for purchase, providing opportunities for small businesses.
Serenoa’s location is also a major draw for homebuyers. It is conveniently situated just 22 miles west of Orlando and only 30 minutes away from the Walt Disney World Resort, however with Sawgrass Bay Blvd connector coming in 3 years, the location will become more convenient and valuable over-time.
